Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
At Snapscreens, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our profile picture maker app. Simply put: we don't collect, store, or track your data. Everything stays on your device.
1. Introduction and Contact Details
We are pleased that you are using SnapProfile (hereinafter "app"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when using our app.
SnapProfile is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your data stays on your device – we do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers.
Responsible for data processing regarding this app within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the Snapscreens Team, contact: [email protected].
2. Our Data Principles
Snapscreens does not collect any personal data from you. All content you create within the app (such as your profile pictures, projects, preferences, and settings) is stored locally on your device only.
We do not have access to your app data. We do not send your photos or images to our servers. Image processing, including subject cut-out, is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework, which is operated by Apple under Apple's own Privacy Policy.
Your data remains entirely under your control. We do not build profiles, serve ads, or use your content for any purpose other than running the app on your device.
3. Local Storage Only
SnapProfile uses local device storage to save your information, including your source photos, created profile pictures, projects, and user preferences.
This data is never transmitted, backed up to our cloud services, or shared with external parties without your explicit action.
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is removed from your device.
4. No Tracking or Analytics
We do not use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar services) to track your app usage.
We do not collect information about how you use the app, what features you access, or how long you spend in the app.
We do not build profiles of your behavior.
5. In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)
In the case of in-app payments, payment is made via RevenueCat Inc., 300 Euclid Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94118, USA, to whom we pass on the information you provided during the ordering process together with the information about your order.
Your data will be passed on in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR exclusively for the purpose of payment processing and only to the extent that it is necessary for this.
We have concluded an order processing contract with RevenueCat Inc., with which we oblige the provider to protect the data of the app users and not to pass it on to third parties.
Further information on data protection by RevenueCat can be found here: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
6. Background Image Assets
SnapProfile offers a gallery of dynamic background images that you can place behind your subject. These background assets are delivered from our content delivery network (Cloudflare) to your device.
This is a one-way download of decorative image assets only. No personal data, photos, or face data are sent to this service. We do not receive your images or any information about how you use them.
Your own photos and created profile pictures are never uploaded as part of this process.
7. Device Permissions and Data Processing
SnapProfile requests the following device permissions to deliver its core functionality. Each permission is used exclusively for its stated purpose and never for tracking, profiling, or advertising.
CAMERA: SnapProfile uses the camera to let you take a selfie to turn into a profile picture. Captured photos are stored locally on your device only. No photo is transmitted to our servers.
PHOTO LIBRARY (READ): SnapProfile requests read access to your photo library to allow you to import an existing photo to turn into a profile picture. We do not scan, index, or collect metadata from your photo library beyond what you explicitly select.
PHOTO LIBRARY (WRITE): SnapProfile requests write access to save your finished profile pictures back to your photo library. No other data is written to your library.
You can review and revoke any of these permissions at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security on your device. Revoking a permission will disable the corresponding feature within the app.
8. Face Data and On-Device Processing
SnapProfile uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to separate the subject of a photo (a person or other foreground subject) from its background, so you can create a profile picture.
WHAT IS PROCESSED: When you select or capture a photo, SnapProfile generates a segmentation mask on your device — a map of which pixels belong to the subject versus the background. This is used solely to cut out the subject and place it on a new background.
ON-DEVICE ONLY — NO COLLECTION OR TRANSMISSION: All processing is performed entirely on your device. SnapProfile does not perform facial recognition, does not create facial geometry, face templates, or biometric identifiers, and does not identify, authenticate, or profile any individual. No face data, biometric data, or derivative data is ever collected, stored on disk, transmitted to our servers, or shared with any third party.
NOT RETAINED: The segmentation mask exists only in the app's memory (RAM) during the cut-out operation and is discarded immediately after your image is created. It is never written to disk, never persisted between sessions, and never uploaded. There is no retention period because the data is never stored.
NO THIRD-PARTY SHARING: Subject detection runs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. SnapProfile does not use any third-party face recognition SDKs or cloud services.
NOT USED FOR IDENTIFICATION: SnapProfile does not use face data to identify, authenticate, or profile any individual. The processing is used exclusively to cut out the subject for profile-picture creation.
9. Contact and Communication
When contacting us (e.g. via email), personal data is collected only if you provide it. This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of answering your request.
The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

10. User Content Ownership
All content you create within the app (your photos, profile pictures, and projects) belongs entirely to you.
The Snapscreens Team does not claim ownership of any user-generated content stored within the app.
You retain all rights to your personal data and content. We do not access, use, or share your content with third parties.
11. Website and Cookie Policy
This policy primarily focuses on data processing within the SnapProfile App. Regarding the website (landing page), snapscreens.com, the following applies.
The snapscreens.com website does not use non-technical profiling, marketing, or third-party cookies. No external tracking tools (such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel) are used that require prior user consent.
The only tracking tools or cookies potentially used are strictly 'technical' or session cookies, necessary for the correct functioning and display of the page.
12. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)
For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since we don't collect any personal data, most GDPR provisions don't apply. However, we fully respect your rights:
• Right to access: You have full access to all your local data at any time directly on your device.
• Right to deletion: You can delete all data by uninstalling the app. All locally stored data is permanently removed.
• Right to portability: You can export your created profile pictures at any time using the app's export features.
• Right to object: Not applicable as we don't process your personal data on our servers.
For any GDPR-related inquiries, contact us at: [email protected]
13. Your Data Rights
Since SnapProfile does not collect or store your data on our servers, you have complete control over your data at all times.
You can access, modify, or delete your data directly within the app or through your device settings.
You are not subject to GDPR data subject access requests or data portability requests because we do not hold your data.
14. Children's Privacy
SnapProfile does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Since SnapProfile does not collect data, there are no special safeguards or parental consent requirements beyond what your device's privacy settings offer.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
We will notify you of significant changes by updating the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this policy.
Your continued use of the app following such notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
